Source and review methodology

Legal Accuracy Methodology

DivorceReady builds self-help divorce content around official source citations, visible review dates, plain-language explanations, and clear limits on what a document preparation service can provide.

Source Hierarchy

1

Official state court forms, instructions, and self-help pages.

2

Official state law library or judicial branch self-help guides.

3

Official e-filing portals and court technology resources.

4

Official county clerk, district clerk, superior court, or circuit clerk pages.

5

Secondary legal-aid or public legal education resources only when official sources are limited.

Review Method

Identify the filing jurisdiction

We separate statewide divorce requirements from county-level filing details so customers can understand which rules are statewide and which must be confirmed locally.

Check official sources first

State and county pages are supported by official court, clerk, e-filing, or law library sources where available.

Translate into plain language

We explain filing concepts in practical language for self-represented filers while keeping legal advice boundaries clear.

Flag local variation

County forms, filing fees, filing codes, standing orders, and hearing scheduling can change. Pages tell customers to confirm current requirements before filing.

Review and update

When content is reviewed, pages receive a visible last-reviewed date and route users to our editorial policy and not-a-law-firm disclosure.

Review Cadence

Current visible review date: August 31, 2026. Next scheduled trust-signal review: November 29, 2026. Urgent source changes can be reviewed sooner through the Legal Operations Center.

Legal Advice Boundary

DivorceReady explains general filing information and prepares forms from customer answers. We do not choose legal strategies, advise on settlement fairness, or represent customers.

What Customers Should Still Verify

Even when a page has been reviewed, courts can change filing fees, local add-on forms, standing orders, electronic filing categories, hearing settings, and clerk procedures. Customers should confirm current local requirements with the filing court or clerk before submitting documents.
